man, best set was Magic Ruler followed by Legacy of Darkness. Keep it old school! and unecessary language removed new packs :D

man IOC was the pack that ruined the game. ygo was downhill from that pack on out.

Well today's meta i have no idea, cus I dont play anymore. But those 2 packs were revolutionary. Every new pack now that has been ground breaking has been in a bad way imo.

IMHO DCR was the pack that FIRST broke the game (come on...3x DDWL was sickening enough...)...oh wait I forgot about PSv and Jinzo/Imperial Order...ugh...

Best pack out right now would probably have to be Cybernetic Revolution...(can't say SOI cause the ONLY card ppl are gunning for is the Treeborn Frog)...

i agree with scyanyde, when DCR hit it redefined broken. 3x ddwl, reflect bounder, and vlord. at the time this set was scary.

nice points but lets not use profanity please.

    Re: Best set??

DCR wasn't that bad, x3 DDWL was nasty, but not broken. IOC was the set that killed the game. Yata was bad enough, but CED/BLS killed it all. Activate CED's effect, send off your own witch/sangan, fetch yata, GG. CRV also messed up the game pretty badly with Cydra. Honestly though, if they keep on banning cards, it's not going to SOLVE anything. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for trying to make the game as fun as possible, and not making everything "yata lock/CED for game", but not matter what they ban, something is ALWAYS going to be on top. That's just the way this game IS. There's always a card that gets you the most advantage that's going to seem broken, that everyone wants banned. What they should do, is re-evaluate the entire B/R list, and keep ONLY what's absolutely necessary. OTK needs to stay banned. Chaos needs to stay banned. Yata needs to stay banned. Off the top of my head, that's about all I can think of. Also, they need to do things like unrestrict Bounder, take off Protector of the Sanctuary, do things like that. They just need to take the time to clean everything up. But really, this isn't the place for this talk. IOC was the best set bar none. Chaos made this game, when this game is talked about, Chaos will be said to have been the most powerful set of monsters in the game, not only that, but other great cards came from IOC. Leviathan, Gorilla, EBO, Smash, Manticore, DMoC, CHAOS obv., Strike Ninja, this set was just broken.

Nice rant, and it is true that Chaos Broke every barrier the original game had. But you must also realize that the bann restricted last CAUSED the Yata Lock. It was a completly legitimate mistake, but think about it. If sinister serpent were to be unbanned and you unbanned Yata, then sinister would trump if you had it in your grave. Although, it would still come down to luck...but that was always my grief over the yata lock. (Really it was that I knew awy around it but could not do it... :<)
If I had to say what is the best set today, it wold be phaoroh's servant with Jinzo and the thousand eyes restrict (today's goat control) and imperial order (not used but still, it is just plain righteoughs)

It's true, both of those monsters WERE very powerful in their day, but their day has passed, and now, they'renot nearly as strong or even USED as much as before. You can tell how broken a monster is by how it effects a game. Chaos, from the time of their release till the game eventually dies out, will be on top. Lets say they were just taken off the B list, everyone would use them. Jinzo has never gone on the B list, yet it's not even used in main decks much anymore. True, it depends on the environment and state of the game that shows you if a card will work well or not, but that's what makes Chaos so broken, because no matter what state the game is in, Chaos will ALWAYS be broken. You can go from being down -12 in card advantage while topdecking, and top CED, and completely and utterly annihilate all of the advantage the opponent had in one fell swoop, possibly ending the game right there. Jinzo and TER, while very powerful in their prime, COULDN'T do that.
