There is a new record for most hugs given/received in one day. It was set by Teddy "McHuggin" in Las Vegas this past Valentine's Day.

He gave out 7,777 hugs in a full 24 hour period.

Not bad. That comes out to:

    324.04 hugs per hour
    5.4 hugs per minute

This seems like it would definitely be beatable. 5.4 hugs per minute doesn't seem all that hard, especially if you found a really crowded place and got the right publicity.

Except you have to realize that any bathroom breaks = break from hugging, and you can't eat and hug very well. You probably wouldn't have nearly as many people to hug at 4 am (even in Vegas).

Standing for 24 hours is incredibly painful.

Can you imagine counting all those hugs?

Yeah true, but it's definitely possible. I've stood for close to 24 hours straight before with just a few breaks. If walking counts as standing then I took even less breaks. It's not that bad until you sit down. You won't be able to get back up.

Does it have to be a different person for each hug? If not, I can beat that. haha

I've been curious about Free Hugs movement because I see it often here (people wearing Free Hug shirts). The article said it's related to Heart Association. Is it always like that, or just this thing that Teddy did?

Well. U will stil have to get some toilet breakes. Orels u will have to take a risk by not drinking too much and have the posibilty to pass out(been there done that, not fun). or pee in the public, wich i can imagine wont go well with the police if they are nearby.

Standing for 24 hours with minimal moving is very very painfull. think the longest i could stand for was 6 hours(lineup in the army). then i just had to move my legs.
